The new Woofie’s franchise is independently owned and operated by local business and life partners Travis Meyerhoff and Kristi Wimmert, both of whom have been life-long residents of the local area.
Woofie’s pet services comprise a wide range of services including pet sitting, dog walking, mobile pet spa, and other personalized services for area pet owners who need an extra helping hand or want to pamper their pets.
Although most of the clientele are dog and cat owners, Woofie’s services are available for all types of family pets who need care, including rats, geckos, guinea pigs, rabbits, and non-poisonous snakes, among others. Woofie’s recently also joined forces with The Pet Vet Connection LLC to deliver unlimited 24/7 vet telehealth services for clients’ pets.
Travis and Kristi are passionate about pet care. Travis is Fear Free certified and incorporates these techniques into staff training at Woofie’s of Lutz. Together, Travis and Kristi have four dogs, three cats, and they also often foster puppies.

FLORIDA — After weeks of hype and planning, Monday’s 2024 total solar eclipse, has arrived to dazzle Floridians. The phenomenon won’t be seen again for two decades.
We’ll see a partial blockage of the sun in Florida with about 58 percent totality as the moon slips between the sun and Earth, according to a searchable NASA map. (Watch the NASA live broadcast below.)
Here are the eclipse times to keep in mind on Monday (all times local):
Fifteen states are in the path of totality, which extends from Texas to Maine in the United States.

The organization specifically warns against bargain hunting for eclipse glasses from online marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay or Temu because counterfeit glasses have infiltrated retail chains. Wherever you acquire protective eyewear, it should meet or exceed the international safety standard of ISO 12312-2:2015.
Keep this in mind, too: Viewing any part of the bright sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury.

TAMPA, FL — Excitement is building in Tampa for the April 8 total solar eclipse. We’re not among some 32 million Americans living in the path of totality, but neither will we miss out on the celestial sensation.
In the United States, the path of totality extends from Texas to Maine, but each of the 48 continental states will see some of the solar eclipse, which occurs when the moon slips between our bright star and Earth. In Tampa, the moon will cover about 57.9 percent of the sun at the peak of the eclipse, according to a NASA map that is searchable by ZIP code.
Here are the details:Partial eclipse begins: 1:43 p.m.Maximum: 2:59 p.m.Partial ends: 4:14 p.m.

Various libraries in the Pinellas County Library Cooperative are hosting eclipse viewing parties, including:
St. Petersburg College Planetarium at the Gibbs Campus in St. Petersburg
The SPC planetarium will host a free public viewing of the eclipse. Eclipse viewers and specially equipped telescopes will be available in the “quad” area of the St. Petersburg/Gibbs campus, near the Natural Science building, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

The total solar eclipse starts in Mexico, entering the United States in Texas and traveling through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, as well as small parts of Tennessee and Michigan, before entering Canada in southern Ontario through Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton before exiting continental North America on the Atlantic coast of Newfoundland, Canada.

The property for the Lutz ER was purchased from LIV Development. LIV Development is currently under construction with Livano Sunlake, a 234-unit luxury multifamily and mixed-use development. Delivering its first units in April 2025, Livano Sunlake will provide to its residents an integrated clubhouse with leasing offices, fitness center, outdoor lounge area, resort-style pool, courtyard spaces, and a family playground. In addition to the multifamily and medical office components, this mixed-use development will offer vertically integrated public retail including a coffee shop, coworking spaces, and a freestanding pet care center.
The new freestanding emergency room will serve patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week and be fully staffed. The opening date for the new facility has not yet been announced.
