Learn More About the Top Home Security Company in Lutz, FL

If there's one thing that homeowners in Lutz can agree on, it's that security and safety risks are part of life. You assume some risk - even if it's small - every time you walk out of your front door. Fortunately, there are many procedures and processes in place to protect us from being victims of crimes, especially in public areas like grocery stores. But what about when we're at home? According to the FBI, property crime accounts for more than 85% of all crime in the U.S. In fact, almost 4.8 million cases of property crime were reported in 2021 alone, with 50% of people reporting that they believe a property crime could happen to them.

If you live in Lutz, chances are you've heard of or know someone personally who has been affected by a break-in or robbery. Property crimes and package theft are higher than the national average, at 53% and 61% respectively. Could you imagine coming home from dinner out with your family, only to see your front door smashed in and your belongings gone? Of course, being the victim of a home break-in is about more than disposable items like TVs and electronics. When the sacred space of your home is violated, you lose peace of mind. What's stopping the criminals from coming back and robbing your home again? Will they tell other criminals that your home is an easy target? Will your children be able to sleep at night knowing that their home has been broken into?

If you're like other Lutz homeowners and believe that peace of mind and safety is priceless, ask yourself this: "What am I doing to make sure my home is protected from burglars?" For most, the answer to that question begins by installing a home security system in Lutz, FL. When you have a burglar alarm installed, you'll have more peace of mind at home or when you're away, knowing that a home security system company like Prime Protection has got your back.

Why Should I Invest in a Home Security System in Lutz, FL?

Whether you live in a gated community miles from a metropolitan area or you enjoy the hustle and bustle of the big city, having a home alarm system is a smart investment. Modern home security systems do more than sound an alarm if someone breaks in - they can include home automation features that make your life easier and can even help reduce energy consumption. But that's just the start. Let's take a look at some of the biggest reasons why you should consider investing in a burglar alarm for your home in Lutz.

 ADT Alarm System Lutz, FL

The top reason to buy a security system for your home is for the protection it provides. From home intrusions and burglaries to fires and even natural disasters, today's residential home monitoring systems work even when you're not there. They can also help in the event of a medical emergency. Buying a robust alarm or camera system for security is an investment.

However, when you discover that the average burglary costs homeowners more than $2,600 per victim (according to the FBI), the cost starts to make a lot of sense. When you're the victim of a home break-in, the damage goes beyond fiscal. There's long-lasting psychological damage that occurs, too, and having a home security system can help prevent that trauma.

 ADT Security Systems Lutz, FL

Research conducted by Professor Joe Kuhns of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at UNC Charlotte found that nearly 60% of burglars planned their break-ins less than 24 hours before attempting them. Additionally, 83% of burglars surveyed reported that they looked for signs of an alarm system, and over half of them stated that they would abandon their plans if they saw one. This research underscores the effectiveness of visible alarm system indicators such as ADT stickers, yard signs, and outdoor cameras in deterring potential burglars, as their crimes are often opportunistic in nature.

 Smart Home Systems Lutz, FL

By installing a home security system, you can have peace of mind, knowing that your home is protected whether you're away or asleep. Plus, modern wireless security systems from ADT that are connected to the internet also allow you to check on your home from anywhere in the world. So, if you're on a business trip in Dubai and want to check on your home, you can do so in a moment's time.

 ADT Home Automation Lutz, FL

When you have a professionally installed home alarm system from a company like Prime Protection, many home insurance companies offer you a discount on the price of your premium. More substantial discounts typically apply to systems that include environmental monitoring for smoke, water damage, fire, and intrusion monitoring. While a discount on your home insurance may not cover the total home security camera system in Lutz, FL, it can make having one more affordable over time. Plus, if you need to file an insurance claim for a break-in or other event, having high-def, reliable video footage can be incredibly beneficial.

Woofie's Of Lutz To Host Grand Opening

Woofie’s of Lutz, serving Carrollwood, Lutz, Tampa, and New Tampa areas, is now offering premier pet care services for dogs, cats, birds, lizards, and other animals. It will celebrate its official launch at a grand opening event to be held on Sunday, June 9th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at ...

Woofie’s of Lutz, serving Carrollwood, Lutz, Tampa, and New Tampa areas, is now offering premier pet care services for dogs, cats, birds, lizards, and other animals. It will celebrate its official launch at a grand opening event to be held on Sunday, June 9th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rock & Brews – Wesley Chapel.

The new Woofie’s franchise is independently owned and operated by local business and life partners Travis Meyerhoff and Kristi Wimmert, both of whom have been life-long residents of the local area.

Woofie’s pet services comprise a wide range of services including pet sitting, dog walking, mobile pet spa, and other personalized services for area pet owners who need an extra helping hand or want to pamper their pets.

Although most of the clientele are dog and cat owners, Woofie’s services are available for all types of family pets who need care, including rats, geckos, guinea pigs, rabbits, and non-poisonous snakes, among others. Woofie’s recently also joined forces with The Pet Vet Connection LLC to deliver unlimited 24/7 vet telehealth services for clients’ pets.

Travis and Kristi are passionate about pet care. Travis is Fear Free certified and incorporates these techniques into staff training at Woofie’s of Lutz. Together, Travis and Kristi have four dogs, three cats, and they also often foster puppies.

“We’re the crazy people you see running across three lanes of traffic to save a turtle, a kitten in the road in the middle of a storm, or to go catch a bird, whose beak is held closed by a net it got stuck in. Our desire for the comfort and safety of all animals drives us to do what we do every day,” says Travis.

As previous owners of Scoopin’ Doody, a pet waste removal business, they decided to go into the pet grooming and care business because of their desire for one-on-one, personalized care. After assessing several different franchise options, they selected Woofie’s due to its culture, philosophy, and successful track record.

“We realized that our commitment to pets extended far beyond just a clean yard. We wanted what we do every day to directly benefit the comfort of pets and provide peace of mind for their pet parents. This led us to expand into pet grooming, dog walking and pet sitting, where we can make a more significant, loving impact on the lives of pets and their families every day,” says Travis, who was the COO and CFO of a multi-specialty, multi-location medical practice located in Tampa prior to getting into the pet care industry. “Woofie’s established technology systems and efficient processes meant less time focusing on administrative tasks and more time focusing on what’s most important, our clients and their pet parents!”

Kristi adds, “Most importantly, we love connecting with our community, and the emphasis on community engagement fits with our own values. We are excited to launch and serve our community with reliable pet care they can count on.”

During the grand opening on June 9th at Rock ‘n Brews, a pet- and family-friendly restaurant in Lutz that specializes in craft brews “with a side of rock ‘n roll,” Woofie’s will offer free nail trims to the first 10 attendees to arrive and 20% off certificates to clients who pre-book services (while time and supplies permit). It will also be free to sign up for the WoofPack loyalty program to receive upgrades from their partners throughout the year. Games will be available for attendees to play, and Woofie’s will provide wash ’n go baths, nail trims, ear cleaning, healthy breath bundles, and monthly specials at discounted prices during the event, while time and supplies permit, and will donate 100% of the event proceeds to animal rescues. During the free raffle, Woofie’s will gift a free luxury bath or full groom along with a basket that includes coupons, toys, and treats from other participating vendors, which include:

Woofie’s of Lutz is currently hiring professional pet groomers, bathers, overnight and daytime dog sitters, and dog walkers. Those interested can apply here.

FLORIDA — After weeks of hype and planning, Monday’s 2024 total solar eclipse, has arrived to dazzle Floridians. The phenomenon won’t be seen again for two decades.

We’ll see a partial blockage of the sun in Florida with about 58 percent totality as the moon slips between the sun and Earth, according to a searchable NASA map. (Watch the NASA live broadcast below.)

Here are the eclipse times to keep in mind on Monday (all times local):

Fifteen states are in the path of totality, which extends from Texas to Maine in the United States.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for mostly clear and sunny skies on Monday.

Be Sure To Protect Your Eyes

Except during the brief total phase of a total solar eclipse, when the sun’s face is completely obscured by the moon, it is not safe to look directly at the sun without protective eye equipment, according to NASA.

The American Astronomical Society has a list of vendors whose eclipse glasses have been certified as safe. The organization specifically warns against bargain hunting for eclipse glasses from online marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay or Temu because counterfeit glasses have infiltrated retail chains. Wherever you acquire protective eyewear, it should meet or exceed the international safety standard of ISO 12312-2:2015.

Keep this in mind, too: Viewing any part of the bright sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury.

One other safe way to view the eclipse is with a do-it-yourself pinhole projector that shows the sun on a nearby surface. The American Astronomical Society has pinhole projector DIY instructions.
