Learn More About the Top Home Security Company in Pembroke Pines, FL

If there's one thing that homeowners in Pembroke Pines can agree on, it's that security and safety risks are part of life. You assume some risk - even if it's small - every time you walk out of your front door. Fortunately, there are many procedures and processes in place to protect us from being victims of crimes, especially in public areas like grocery stores. But what about when we're at home? According to the FBI, property crime accounts for more than 85% of all crime in the U.S. In fact, almost 4.8 million cases of property crime were reported in 2021 alone, with 50% of people reporting that they believe a property crime could happen to them.

If you live in Pembroke Pines, chances are you've heard of or know someone personally who has been affected by a break-in or robbery. Property crimes and package theft are higher than the national average, at 53% and 61% respectively. Could you imagine coming home from dinner out with your family, only to see your front door smashed in and your belongings gone? Of course, being the victim of a home break-in is about more than disposable items like TVs and electronics. When the sacred space of your home is violated, you lose peace of mind. What's stopping the criminals from coming back and robbing your home again? Will they tell other criminals that your home is an easy target? Will your children be able to sleep at night knowing that their home has been broken into?

If you're like other Pembroke Pines homeowners and believe that peace of mind and safety is priceless, ask yourself this: "What am I doing to make sure my home is protected from burglars?" For most, the answer to that question begins by installing a home security system in Pembroke Pines, FL. When you have a burglar alarm installed, you'll have more peace of mind at home or when you're away, knowing that a home security system company like Prime Protection has got your back.

Why Should I Invest in a Home Security System in Pembroke Pines, FL?

Whether you live in a gated community miles from a metropolitan area or you enjoy the hustle and bustle of the big city, having a home alarm system is a smart investment. Modern home security systems do more than sound an alarm if someone breaks in - they can include home automation features that make your life easier and can even help reduce energy consumption. But that's just the start. Let's take a look at some of the biggest reasons why you should consider investing in a burglar alarm for your home in Pembroke Pines.

ADT Alarm System Pembroke Pines, FL

The top reason to buy a security system for your home is for the protection it provides. From home intrusions and burglaries to fires and even natural disasters, today's residential home monitoring systems work even when you're not there. They can also help in the event of a medical emergency. Buying a robust alarm or camera system for security is an investment.

However, when you discover that the average burglary costs homeowners more than $2,600 per victim (according to the FBI), the cost starts to make a lot of sense. When you're the victim of a home break-in, the damage goes beyond fiscal. There's long-lasting psychological damage that occurs, too, and having a home security system can help prevent that trauma.

ADT Security Systems Pembroke Pines, FL

Research conducted by Professor Joe Kuhns of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at UNC Charlotte found that nearly 60% of burglars planned their break-ins less than 24 hours before attempting them. Additionally, 83% of burglars surveyed reported that they looked for signs of an alarm system, and over half of them stated that they would abandon their plans if they saw one. This research underscores the effectiveness of visible alarm system indicators such as ADT stickers, yard signs, and outdoor cameras in deterring potential burglars, as their crimes are often opportunistic in nature.

Smart Home Systems Pembroke Pines, FL

By installing a home security system, you can have peace of mind, knowing that your home is protected whether you're away or asleep. Plus, modern wireless security systems from ADT that are connected to the internet also allow you to check on your home from anywhere in the world. So, if you're on a business trip in Dubai and want to check on your home, you can do so in a moment's time.

ADT Home Automation Pembroke Pines, FL

When you have a professionally installed home alarm system from a company like Prime Protection, many home insurance companies offer you a discount on the price of your premium. More substantial discounts typically apply to systems that include environmental monitoring for smoke, water damage, fire, and intrusion monitoring. While a discount on your home insurance may not cover the total home security camera system in Pembroke Pines, FL, it can make having one more affordable over time. Plus, if you need to file an insurance claim for a break-in or other event, having high-def, reliable video footage can be incredibly beneficial.

PEMBROKE PINES, FLA. (WSVN) - A Pembroke Pines family of five was forced out of their home after a water main broke and formed several sinkholes.

The incident happened at 300 SW 65th Way, Tuesday morning.

“I guess one of the main water lines broke,” said Gisselle Quesada, the homeowner.

The broken water lines caused the ground to collapse around the home.

“And then out of nowhere we noticed there was a big hole and then it just got bigger and kept getting bigger and bigger,” said Quesada.

According to city officials, the properties were deemed to be unsafe, forcing the family of five and a neighbor out of their homes.

7News cameras captured large sinkholes several feet deep in the homeowner’s backyard.

“We’re not staying here, no. They told us it’s better not to because we don’t know, but there is a possibility that it could collapse the whole house. Because it does go, the sinkhole goes, underneath the house, yeah so we’re gonna have to leave,” said Quesada.

The family, which includes three small children, has no idea where they will be staying.

“It is very upsetting and it’s shocking, especially with this weather and we have our three kids and our two dogs. So to kind of find a place at the last minute, where to go stay,” said Quesada.

City officials were seen arriving at the home on Tuesday afternoon to check out the damage.

Quesada tells 7News she is thankful she caught the damage just in time.

“On a day like today, it was raining and we normally wouldn’t go outside. It was a coincidence that we were outside so we spotted it thankfully. So everything happens for a reason that we saw it,” she said.

On Tuesday afternoon, the water main was fixed.

Structural engineers said the integrity of several homes has been compromised as a result of the sinkhole.

The family said city officials told them the sinkhole could cause foundational problems with their home and they will have to get out of the house until it is thoroughly investigated.

The family has been put in a hotel room until the work to fix the sinkhole is done.

PEMBROKE PINES, FLA. (WSVN) - Four people, including a child, were taken to the hospital after they were bitten by a dog in a Pembroke Pines neighborhood, officials said.

Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue units responded to the incident in the area of 1400 Golfview Drive, just after 4:30 p.m., Friday.

“Looks like it’s going to be two dogs. One is contained by the dog owner, the other is uncontained. It’s going to be a white, gray pit bull,” said a dispatcher.

According to officials, the victims were bitten by a loose pit bull.

One of the people was bitten on the hip on one side and on the buttocks on the other side.

Area resident Dale Barrett said this victim was his daughter.

“Because she came right in between to protect the kid,” he said. “She heard something going on, and she’s like, reacting and trying to scare the dog away from the kid, and the dog turned on her.”

Paramedics transported the patients to local area hospitals. None of their conditions are life-threatening.

The dog has been contained, and Broward County Animal Care was called to handle the animal.

7News cameras caught the dog inside its home as the owner closed the door.

Neighbor Patty Stabile told 7News the pit bull has been a problem for a while, but nothing has been done.

“Apparently there’s been some several bites in the past, in the last couple of years. Unfortunately, Broward County has not taken the dog. It was inevitable when they can’t control them and something aggravates them,” said Stabile.

Neighbors added that the dog was unleashed and loose when it began attacking.

“When you have a child and four people attacked by one dog, that’s a big deal,” said Stabile.

Stabile said this is not the first time the dog has bitten people, but the animal remained with its owner.

“He is on a leash. Sometimes if he is interested in something, somebody can’t control him, so you have to have the strength,” she said.

“[My daughter’s] got a mark on her face, open wound, and she’s trying to hold it, and bit on the butt, bites on the butt,” said Barrett. “Same dog, same pit bull, this happened before.”

The dog was taken away by Broward County Animal Care and remains in their custody while they conduct an investigation.

This year marks the 47th anniversary of one of the most musically potent periods in the Grateful Dead‘s storied career–the legendary 1977 spring tour.

Deadheads are known for being both extensively knowledgeable and highly critical, and the notion that Spring ’77 was a peak for the band is about as close as you’ll get to a consensus among hardcore fans—though narrowing it down to a specific “best” show on the tour becomes much trickier.

Of course, there was the show at Cornell University’s Barton Hall on 5/8/77, the most famous show the band ever played, about which books have been written, documentaries have been made, and countless words have been exchanged in the discussion of its merit.

Related: Dead & Company Make The Grade At Cornell University’s Barton Hall [Videos/Audio]

Then there’s the following evening’s incredible performance at War Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo (5/9/77), which is frequently used as an argument as to why Barton Hall is overrated (i.e. “Cornell ’77 wasn’t even the best show that week, man”).

The two shows that preceded Barton Hall, at Boston Garden in Boston, MA (5/7/77) and Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in New Haven, CT (5/5/77) have also reached legendary status in Dead circles—another pair of precious gems from the embarrassment of riches that was Spring ’77.

In 2017, in honor of the 40th anniversary of Spring ’77, the Grateful Dead issued a new box set, May 1977: Get Shown The Light, which featured remastered recordings of 5/5/77, 5/7/77, 5/8/77, and 5/9/77 and was marketed as a collection of some of the greatest shows in the history of live Dead.

But the Grateful Dead’s Spring ’77 run goes even deeper than those four storied performances. Take, for example, the show they played 47 years ago today, on 5/22/77 at The Sportatorium in Pembroke Pines, FL. The show was the third to get the remaster treatment as part of the Dick’s Picks archive audio series in 1995, but by that time it had already been cemented in the pantheon of legendary Dead shows.

The show boasts a litany of incredible highlights: The first set renditions of “Sugaree” and “Peggy-O” (not featured on Dick’s Picks 3) and “Dancin’ in the Streets” were all played with an emboldened sense of exploration. The second set-opening “Help” > “Slip” > “Franklin’s” is the stuff of Dead legend, one of the best versions of the classic live suite ever performed. Most of the second set was played without the Dead skipping a beat, as they worked their way through powerful performances of “Estimated Prophet” > “Eyes of the World” > “Wharf Rat” > “Terrapin Station” > a revelatory “Morning Dew”, showcasing a band in historic form.

On the 47th anniversary of 5/22/77, take a listen to the undeniably great performance in all its glory—and take a moment to appreciate the fact that, while this show would likely have been in a class all its own had it been performed at any other time, it’s just another “run-of-the-mill-stellar” show among its time-tested Spring ’77 brethren.

Prayers/Confessions For Individuals And Families, a new book by Addie Stewart, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

Put Me in Remembrance. Let us contend together.

State your case that you may be acquitted or justified. Isaiah 43:29

This book is about God's promises. When we present God's Word back to Him in the form of prayer, He is faithful to answer. In 1990, as Addie was reading her Bible, one particular passage of scripture spoke to her heart.). 13 "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."17 So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth." (Genesis 9:13-17)

As she began to meditate on these scriptures, she noticed a rainbow in the sky which was confirmation to her that God was leading her to begin to write out His promises in the form of prayers and confessions. During the years of 1990, she has followed the leading of the Holy Spirit by collecting these prayers in the hopes and faith that they will be helpful to many.

As a result of seeking God's purpose for her life between the years of 1990 through 2004, Addie's outreach ministry has fed and clothed thousands of homeless people in her city. She left her job and opened a homeless shelter for men who were homeless and experiencing addiction. She was strongly supported by her church until the time God began to move her in a different direction. As Team Leader for intercessory prayer, she also developed an intercessory prayer instruction manual. She continues to do outreach ministry as opportunities present themselves. Addie has compassion for the lost who need to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior so that they can experience the love and abundant life that His death secured for the world.

God declared His House would be called a House of Prayer.

At the beginning of April, lines at the visitor’s entrance at Century Village had wait times of almost two hours. On Tuesday morning, it was a bit better with a 45-minute wait time.

Since NBC6 first broke the story a few weeks ago, the president of one of the many homeowner’s associations in the over 55 community in Pembroke Pines is trying to set the record straight on what sparked these long lines.

“When they decided OK, we’re going to crack down on security, the lines happened and people got upset. But it’s either you want it one way or you want it the other way,” said Beverly Erickson, president of six buildings inside Century Village.

Erickson said procedures changed at the entrance gates on April 1 after many residents complained about wanting stiffer security. She explained how this came after reports of crimes like the thefts of catalytic converters from cars and guards letting unauthorized people into the community.

There's growing concern and frustration as people say they have been waiting in long lines for hours to get into a Pembroke Pines senior community. NBC6's Niko Clemmons reports

“What happened was that people were complaining that we had no security. They felt that people were getting in that did not belong and that the guards were just waving them in," Erickson said. "It seems like the company automatically fired most of the workers and hired new ones and started training them and they followed all the rules."

Renters and visitors also had to renew their entry barcodes and passes with these new procedures, but Erickson agrees that the changes came abruptly with little warning or notice.

Broward County 6 mins ago

“In my opinion, it should have been planned more efficiently and let people know we’re going to be cracking down," Erickson said. "If you need to get your cards, IDs and barcodes renewed you better do it. There was no warning so to speak."

While there has been an improvement from the lengthy lines at the beginning of April, visitors told NBC6 Tuesday they’re not in the clear yet.

“I’m a physical therapist and my patients are suffering because sometimes by the time I make it in there, they’re gone. So they’re missing their appointments with me,” said Lina Galvez, a physical therapist who frequently visits Century Village.

“It’s terrible. I can’t get in to get my parents. My dad had canceled a hospital appointment last week because of an hour and a half sitting like this. There needs to be more communication. They need to set up a format that everybody is aware of. The format they have now is not working,” said Judy Boyle, whose parents live in Century Village.

According to Erickson, management at Century Village has been trying to alleviate the situation by allowing authorized frequent visitors like nurses and family members to get barcodes to enter through the resident’s lane.

“The aids that can get barcodes have been doing it and the guests, so it should be less and less, but you figure 14,000 people live in Century Village," Erickson said. "How many guests? I don’t know, but it’s a hard situation. As more and more people do what they’re supposed to do and get the codes and the renewal and all that they’re supposed to do, it will work itself out."

The lines at the visitor’s lanes ebb and flow depending on the time of day or day of the week, but Erickson said Century Village is still trying to work out all the kinks with this new process.
