Safeguard Your Property with a Home Security System from Prime Protection

Learn More About the Top Home Security Company in Valrico, FL

If there's one thing that homeowners in Valrico can agree on, it's that security and safety risks are part of life. You assume some risk - even if it's small - every time you walk out of your front door. Fortunately, there are many procedures and processes in place to protect us from being victims of crimes, especially in public areas like grocery stores. But what about when we're at home? According to the FBI, property crime accounts for more than 85% of all crime in the U.S. In fact, almost 4.8 million cases of property crime were reported in 2021 alone, with 50% of people reporting that they believe a property crime could happen to them.

If you live in Valrico, chances are you've heard of or know someone personally who has been affected by a break-in or robbery. Property crimes and package theft are higher than the national average, at 53% and 61% respectively. Could you imagine coming home from dinner out with your family, only to see your front door smashed in and your belongings gone? Of course, being the victim of a home break-in is about more than disposable items like TVs and electronics. When the sacred space of your home is violated, you lose peace of mind. What's stopping the criminals from coming back and robbing your home again? Will they tell other criminals that your home is an easy target? Will your children be able to sleep at night knowing that their home has been broken into?

If you're like other Valrico homeowners and believe that peace of mind and safety is priceless, ask yourself this: "What am I doing to make sure my home is protected from burglars?" For most, the answer to that question begins by installing a home security system in Valrico, FL. When you have a burglar alarm installed, you'll have more peace of mind at home or when you're away, knowing that a home security system company like Prime Protection has got your back.

Why Should I Invest in a Home Security System in Valrico, FL?

Whether you live in a gated community miles from a metropolitan area or you enjoy the hustle and bustle of the big city, having a home alarm system is a smart investment. Modern home security systems do more than sound an alarm if someone breaks in - they can include home automation features that make your life easier and can even help reduce energy consumption. But that's just the start. Let's take a look at some of the biggest reasons why you should consider investing in a burglar alarm for your home in Valrico.

 ADT Alarm System Valrico, FL

The top reason to buy a security system for your home is for the protection it provides. From home intrusions and burglaries to fires and even natural disasters, today's residential home monitoring systems work even when you're not there. They can also help in the event of a medical emergency. Buying a robust alarm or camera system for security is an investment.

However, when you discover that the average burglary costs homeowners more than $2,600 per victim (according to the FBI), the cost starts to make a lot of sense. When you're the victim of a home break-in, the damage goes beyond fiscal. There's long-lasting psychological damage that occurs, too, and having a home security system can help prevent that trauma.

 ADT Security Systems Valrico, FL

Research conducted by Professor Joe Kuhns of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at UNC Charlotte found that nearly 60% of burglars planned their break-ins less than 24 hours before attempting them. Additionally, 83% of burglars surveyed reported that they looked for signs of an alarm system, and over half of them stated that they would abandon their plans if they saw one. This research underscores the effectiveness of visible alarm system indicators such as ADT stickers, yard signs, and outdoor cameras in deterring potential burglars, as their crimes are often opportunistic in nature.

 Smart Home Systems Valrico, FL

By installing a home security system, you can have peace of mind, knowing that your home is protected whether you're away or asleep. Plus, modern wireless security systems from ADT that are connected to the internet also allow you to check on your home from anywhere in the world. So, if you're on a business trip in Dubai and want to check on your home, you can do so in a moment's time.

 ADT Home Automation Valrico, FL

When you have a professionally installed home alarm system from a company like Prime Protection, many home insurance companies offer you a discount on the price of your premium. More substantial discounts typically apply to systems that include environmental monitoring for smoke, water damage, fire, and intrusion monitoring. While a discount on your home insurance may not cover the total home security camera system in Valrico, FL, it can make having one more affordable over time. Plus, if you need to file an insurance claim for a break-in or other event, having high-def, reliable video footage can be incredibly beneficial.

Big retirement sale underway

Shoppers looking for great deals on jewelry should plan a visit to Spath Jewelers Valrico store location at 2523 FL-60 State Road E. The store offers various styles and prices on high-quality jewelry, including bridal, gemstones, rings, watches, necklaces, pendants and unique pieces. The sale will continue until all merchandise is sold.

The store has always carried one-of-a-kind jewelry, something the couple feels sets it apart from big box stores. “If we really like something, we have one or two of them for sale versus selling the same ring or other jewelry pieces in large quantities,” he says. “These are special, rare pieces that are hard to find elsewhere.”

Gene and Tina Spath spent a lot of time and effort opening their first jewelry store in Bartow nearly 40 years ago in 1986. “We worked crazy hours until 8 p.m. every night,” says Gene Spath. “We built that business from the ground up and just kept growing it.”

All that hard work paid off for the Spaths, who became so successful the couple decided to open a second jewelry shop in Valrico. With nearly four decades in the jewelry store business, the couple felt the time was right to retire and pass the reins to their children. The Spaths are holding a retirement sale at the Valrico location to celebrate this generational milestone.

From plumbing to jewelry

Gene Spath began his career as a plumber, a job where the result of his work is typically hidden. It’s a far cry from the jewelry business, where the end result of the staff’s work custom-building, designing, or repairing jewelry pieces is in plain view.

“With plumbing, your work is always covered up,” Spath says. “Jewelry is the complete opposite – you’re in the spotlight.”

All of Spath Jewelers’ staff members are sent through an accredited jewelry program with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The business also has the honor of being hand selected for membership to the much coveted Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO). IJO only accepts jewelers with the highest ethical standards and superior professional integrity.

It’s something the staff takes seriously. Employees go out of their way to ensure customers experience a warm and welcoming atmosphere. “We’ll never pressure customers to buy anything,” he says.

Spath Jewelers, in return, has earned a dedicated customer following over the years. The Spaths have developed close friendships with many customers as well. “Many of our customers have become friends,” he says. “We now have generations of family shopping at our stores as well.”

Keeping it in the family

Gene and Tina Spath are confident they’re leaving the family business in great hands. Their daughter Emily is running the Bartow store while their son Brian manages the Valrico store.

Plans in retirement include spending more time with their grandkids and traveling. The Spaths bought an RV and are looking forward to hitting the road during their next chapter in life. On their bucket list is a safari trip to Botswana that’s planned.

Giving back and looking forward

Spath Jewelers has supported the community over the years through charitable giving. Some of their favorite causes include the Bartow Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. Tina Spath received the George W. Harris Leadership Bartow Award for her dedication to the community. Emily has served as president of the Bartow Chamber of Commerce.

“We’ve been blessed to be part of this community for so many years and look forward to celebrating our customers’ special moments for many more years to come,” Gene Spath says. “We’re just filled with a lot of gratitude.”

VALRICO, Fla. — There are nearly 120,000 LED pixels on Audra and Rodney Burton's Valrico home. The couple loves Christmas, and they want everyone to know it.

The Burtons will be making their national debut during The Great Christmas Light Fight, airing Sunday at 10 p.m. on ABC.

"It's kind of unheard of with just us two, especially at this magnitude in this size, but it doesn't feel like it to us. It's like another day out in the yard," Rodney Burton said.

The planning for a project of this scale takes all year. The couple worked weekends out in the yard, 10-plus hour days for 34 days to pull it off.

"We get a chance to actually tell our story, to get to get a chance to show people what dedication would drive for what love and passion can do for you," Rodney Burton said. "And not only that, when you look outside, we come out every night and talk to people. And they can't believe somebody would do all this for free. And give it back to the community. And that's what it's all about.

"Just us two. That doesn't include what we did all year long. We sacrificed many weekends, and we gave up some vacations. We went to Christmas light conferences to continue to enhance our knowledge of this sport," Audra Burton said.

The Burtons told ABC Action News reporter Michael Paluska that they are motivated by their faith in Christ. Visitors to the home located at 2014 Sydney Road, Valrico, enjoyed how wholesome the show is.

"It's beautiful," Sally Barton said. "I love the Christian music. It is really different than some other light shows you see. I didn't expect that."

The Burtons had to place every LED pixel into place, which means the Burtons have touched all of the 120,000 lights. If that wasn't hard enough, they had to design and map out where they went and install each section piece by piece; nothing came prefabbed.

"This is what a true relationship looks and feels like when you love each other enough to sacrifice other things to bring joy to others," Rodney Burton said.

The show is free, but the Burtons hope people will take the time to help non-profits that rescue animals or donate pet food.

Last year, Audra Burton said they raised more than 2,400 for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and collected more than 750 pounds of donated pet food.

This year, they are supportingA Kitten Place andRaining Cats and Dogs Shelter.

Chick-fil-A has announced a new drone delivery service in Brandon, Florida.

On the company’s Brandon/Valrico Facebook page, it stated, “Drone delivery is now here at Chick-fil-A E. Brandon/Valrico only! For a limited time, order Chick-fil-A Delivery and enjoy a $0 delivery fee. The current delivery hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, subject to availability. Delivery distance is limited. When placing your order on the Chick-fil-A app, select ‘Chick-fil-A Delivery’ to ensure your order will be delivered by drone.”

Chick-fil-A also made a separate post showing what goes on behind the scenes of a drone delivery order.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Chick-fil-A E. Brandon-Valrico (@chickfila_valrico)

The process begins when a customer places an order through the Chick-fil-A app. Their order is then prepared and packed snugly into a white box by the restaurant’s diligent staff. The securely packaged box is then hitched onto a drone before beginning its journey to the customer’s location. Equipped with advanced navigation technology, the drone makes its way to the delivery address. Upon arrival, it gently lowers the boxed order to the ground, enabling customers to receive their orders right at their doorstep or at a location of their choice.

Chick-fil-A informed USA Today that they are currently experimenting with new modes of delivery. According to the fast-food restaurant chain, Chick-fil-A continually looks for inventive strategies to improve its customer experience. They are at the initial stage of trialing drone delivery at a handful of Chick-fil-A establishments.

Chick-fil-A’s decision to test drone delivery indicates a pioneering shift toward a futuristic model where drone deliveries could become the norm. Other retailers, such as Walmart, have indicated an interest in doing the same. It will be interesting to see how other fast food and restaurant businesses follow suit.
